Our Community

Glocester is known as a great place to live and raise a family, due to its excellent school system, low crime rate and rural character. Our population as of July 2022 is 10,110 and 16.8 percent of those people are over 65. With limited public transportation it can be a difficult town to stay living independently. Our local Senior Center Director was well aware of the difficulties facing seniors in our town and proposed forming a Village to make aging in place easier for our seniors. We officially became a village in July 2023!!

Glocester Village’s goals are well aligned with our community’s needs. Our top priorities are to provide transportation, home help, social connections, and mental and physical stimulation.

  1. Village members can use our ride service to get to important appointments both for medical and personal care. We offer small household tasks and tech help to support living independently.
  2. We address isolation with regular phone check-ins and visits. It’s a way to monitor physical and/or mental decline, to encourage engagement and to offer a point of contact for family members.
  3. Activities and events further encourage social interaction and opportunities for learning and exercise.
