Meet the Author
Meet Me At The
Biltmore
Join the Edgewood Village on April 11th at the Edgewood Congregational Church, Cranston as we engage with Amanda Quay Blount, author of the new book "Meet me at the Biltmore," the first historical account of Providence’s iconic hotel.
If you’ve lived in Rhode Island, you may have gotten married there or even had your senior prom there. Ms. Blount will tell us about the extensive research that went into writing
Meet Me at The Biltmore: 100 Years at Providence's Most Storied Hotel
. Her presentation will also include a chronological history of the hotel and will introduce you to some of Rhode Island's most interesting, and in some cases, long forgotten characters, from bootleggers to Buddy Cianci and everyone in between. Discover the incredible tales, drama, scandal and secrets that make the landmark Biltmore Hotel what it is today. Amanda Quay Blount hails from New Jersey but came to Rhode Island in 2018 and was instantly enthralled by the historic allure of the city. Amanda holds a degree in History from Rutgers University and a Master's in Social Work and Community Development from Washington University in St. Louis.
